Use English in Real-Life Situations

Immerse Yourself –

Surround yourself with English as much as possible. You don’t need to be in an English-speaking country to surround yourself with English. Find ways to make English part of your everyday life at home, like  by writing your daily schedule, reading the newspaper, listening to the podcast,  listening to English music on your cellphone while traveling . Watch English movies, listen to English music, and try to think and speak in English whenever you can. As this will help you to learn new words of English and then help you speak English fluently.

Use Language Learning Apps –

There are many apps available that offer structured lessons, vocabulary practice, and interactive exercises to help you learn the English language easily. Duolingo is the app from where you can learn the English language and also other languages.

Read Widely –

Read English books, newspapers, magazines, and online articles. This will help you improve your vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills in English. By reading this you will be able to learn new words which will further help you to speak English fluently.

Watch English TV Shows and Movies with Subtitles –

This can help you improve your listening skills and get accustomed to different words, phrases, sentences, and more. It will also help you in improving your English language skills including pronunciation, vocabulary and comprehension. At the same time it will also help learners understand how words and phrases are used in different situations.

Actively take note of new vocabulary –

Whenever you hear or read a new word or expression, write it down in context: that is, in a sentence and with its meaning noted. This saves your time as you won’t return to that word and ask yourself it’s meaning. This step is very crucial as many times we forget the word or sentence. So instead of forgetting and regretting it’s said to note it down either in notebook or notes of your phone.

Use English in Real-Life Situations –

Try to use English in everyday situations, such as ordering food at a restaurant, asking for directions, or having conversations with  friends and family. This will help you to know your progress in the language that you have learnt. It will also help you to boost your confidence while speaking in English. However, talking to yourself, practising your vocabulary out loud, and even recording yourself speaking in English  can help to build your confidence.
